Garret Fay, CEO on BBC Three Counties Radio
Speaking on BBC Three Counties Radio this morning, Garret Fay, the CEO of the Insignis Academy Trust, discussed the decision to close the trust's six schools for two days as the UK faces a severe and unprecedented June heatwave. With temperatures threatening to break the 40°C mark and rare red extreme heat warnings in effect across the country, the trust emphasised that the health and safety of its students and staff had to take priority over standard operations. The preventative closures mirror emergency measures taken by over 200 other schools nationwide, ensuring that children and staff remain out of dangerously hot, unairconditioned buildings during the peak of the scorching weather.
