Purchasing Options
We offer four main pathways to ensure our 1:1 Chromebook scheme is accessible for everyone.
Option A: Chromebook Lease Scheme
We work with Getech Education and edde to allow families to buy a device through affordable monthly payments with no credit check. We have negotiated big discounts through bulk purchasing, and we believe this scheme offers good value for money compared to similar devices with insurance cover and equivalent payments over time.
What is included:
- The device and protective case.
- No Excess Insurance: 3-year accidental damage cover with £0 excess.
- Warranty: 12 months manufacturer’s warranty.
- Software: Google Education Licence and administrative set-up.
| Lease Term | Payment | Monthly Lease (ex VAT) |
| 12 month | Direct Debit | £37.66 |
| 18 months | Direct Debit | £25.82 |
| 24 months | Direct Debit | £20.09 |
| 30 months | Direct Debit | £16.33 |
| 36 months | Direct Debit | £14.06 |
Option B: Chromebook Outright Purchase Scheme
While many families choose our monthly donation schemes, purchasing the device outright is a popular option for those who prefer to own the technology from day one without ongoing payments.
To support our commitment to digital learning, we have partnered with edde for Education to provide a simple pathway for parents to purchase a high-specification Chromebook for their child.
When purchasing outright through edde, you can choose between the base hardware or a fully protected bundle. We strongly recommend the protected bundle to ensure your child isn't without a device in the event of accidental damage.
What is included:
- The device and protective case.
- Optional No Excess Insurance: 3-year accidental damage cover with £0 excess.
- Warranty: 12 months manufacturer’s warranty.
- Software: Google Education Licence and administrative set-up.
Note: The "Google Classroom Management License" is a mandatory requirement. It allows the school to push out educational apps, manage security settings, and ensure the device remains a safe tool for learning.
| Outright Purchase | Payment Method | Total Cost (ex VAT) |
| With 3-year insurance & repair | Direct Debit/Debit Card | £423.88 |
| With 3-year insurance & repair | Credit Card | £438.88 |
| Without insurance & repair | Direct Debit/Debit Card | £359.91 |
| Without insurance & repair | Credit Card | £374.91 |
Option C: ChromeFlex (Reuse an old laptop)
If you own an older, compatible Windows laptop, we can convert it into a Chromebook for school use.
- Cost: A one-off non-refundable fee of £50.
- What this covers: This fee purchases the Google Education licence that allows the school to push out necessary apps, Wi-Fi settings, and security updates centrally. Without this, the device cannot connect to our secure learning network. The fee also includes the administration required to manage the device on an ongoing basis.
- Important Note: This process requires a full factory reset, which will wipe all data from the laptop. Please back up your files before handing the device to us.
Please note: A ChromeFlex device does not receive the same benefits as a device purchased from the Trust’s Chromebook Purchase Scheme.
Option D: Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
You may purchase a new Chromebook from any retailer.
- Cost: A one-off non-refundable fee of £50.
- Why is this fee mandatory? This fee purchases the Google Education licence that allows the school to push out necessary apps, Wi-Fi settings, and security updates centrally. Without this, the device cannot connect to our secure learning network. The fee also includes the administration required to manage the device on an ongoing basis.
- Please note: a Chromebook purchased directly from a retailer does not receive the same benefits as a device purchased from the Trust’s Chromebook Purchase Scheme.
Support for Pupil Premium (PP) Students
Students eligible for Free School Meals (or identified as PP) will be provided with a Chromebook free of charge.
- This device includes all the benefits of the Purchase Scheme (insurance/warranty).
- Ownership: The device remains the property of the school and must be returned when the student leaves the Trust.
- Action: Guidance will be issued to parents/carers of students eligible for Free School Meals (or identified as PP) to explain how to obtain a device. Although the Trust will pay for the device, parents/carers will need to request the device via the purchasing portal.
How to Place your Order (Mid-Year Orders Only)
The school does not handle the financial transactions for these devices. To purchase your Chromebook, please contact the specialists at edde directly. They will guide you through the payment process and ensure the device is correctly registered to our school network.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why buy through the school scheme rather than a high-street retailer?
Retail models often lack the "ruggedised" build quality required for school use. Furthermore, devices bought elsewhere will not include the mandatory management license, meaning they cannot be used on the school’s secure network.
What does the insurance cover?
The optional 3-year insurance covers accidental damage (such as cracked screens or liquid spills) and theft, and is limited to 2 claims per year.
When will the device be delivered?
Once payment is confirmed, your school's IT department will coordinate communication to indicate when your child's device is ready for your child to collect.
